WordPress health check

Is your WordPress site actually healthy?

A one-time review of your WordPress site covering plugins, updates, security, performance, and backups. You get a written report with ranked findings and a fix price for each issue. Not hacked, not on a care plan, just want to know where you stand? This is the check for you.

One flat price EUR 199, no tiers to figure out. You know the cost before you order.
Concrete findings Every issue named, located, and explained. No generic "keep things updated" advice.
Ranked by risk You see what matters most so you can fix the urgent things first.
Fix price per issue Each finding has a fixed price if you want us to handle it. Fix any, all, or none.

What a WordPress health check covers.

A health check is a snapshot, not a guess. We look at the five things that quietly break WordPress sites, then hand you a written report you can act on or pass to anyone.

Every active plugin and theme reviewed for known vulnerabilities, abandoned or unmaintained code, version conflicts, and overlap (two plugins doing the same job). Abandoned plugins are one of the most common ways a healthy site quietly becomes an exposed one. We flag what to update, what to replace, and what to remove.
WordPress core, PHP version, and database health checked. Out-of-date PHP is the single most common silent risk we find. We tell you what is safe to update now, what needs testing first, and what is holding you on an old version.
A proactive scan for the basics: file integrity, admin user hygiene, login hardening, exposed endpoints, and known malware patterns. This is a preventive check, not incident response. If we find an active compromise, we tell you immediately and point you to a full cleanup.
Page load reviewed for the obvious wins: oversized images, render-blocking assets, missing caching, and bloat from plugins you are not using. You get the specific issues slowing the site, ranked by how much they cost you.
We confirm whether backups actually exist, whether they run on a schedule, and whether they could realistically be restored. A backup nobody has tested is not a backup. This is the check most site owners skip until the day they need it.

The quiet problems a health check catches early.

Most WordPress sites that go down or get hacked were not broken the week before. They were carrying one of these, unnoticed, until it became the reason the site failed. A health check surfaces them while they are still cheap to fix.

Abandoned plugins

A plugin the developer stopped maintaining keeps working right up until a known vulnerability gets exploited. It is one of the most common ways a healthy WordPress site quietly becomes an exposed one. We flag every plugin that is unmaintained, outdated, or duplicating another plugin's job.

An old PHP version

Running an end-of-life PHP version is the single most common silent risk we find. It stops getting security patches, slows the whole site down, and eventually breaks plugins that drop support for it. We tell you exactly which version you are on and what moving up safely involves.

A backup nobody has tested

Plenty of sites have a backup plugin installed and assume they are covered. Then the day comes to restore and the backups are empty, corrupt, or were never actually running. A backup you have never restored is not a backup. We confirm yours genuinely works.

Weak admin and login hygiene

Stale admin accounts, shared logins, no rate limiting on the login page, default usernames. None of these break anything on their own, which is exactly why they go unnoticed until someone brute-forces their way in. We check the basics that keep attackers out.

Performance bloat

Oversized images, render-blocking scripts, missing caching, and plugins you stopped using but never removed. Each one shaves a little off your load time and a little off your search ranking. We find the specific drag and rank it by how much it actually costs you.

Drift you cannot see

Core, theme, and plugin updates that have been postponed so long that applying them now risks breaking the site. The longer the gap, the riskier the catch-up. We map what is safe to update immediately and what needs testing on staging first.

Order it, and the report lands in three days.

No retainer, no sales call, no commitment beyond the one check. Three steps:

1

You order the check

Send your site URL via the contact form. After payment, we send secure instructions for creating temporary access — credentials never go through email or the form. Flat EUR 199, paid up front. That is the whole commitment.

2

We review the five areas

A real person works through plugins, updates, security, performance, and backups. No automated PDF dump, an actual review by someone who fixes these sites.

3

You get the report

Within 3 business days: a written report with every finding ranked by risk and a fix price next to each one. Fix any, all, or none. The report is yours to keep.

Most "site audits" are an automated scan in a PDF.

A scanner can tell you a plugin is out of date. It cannot tell you whether that matters for your site. A few things we do differently:

Plenty of tools spit out a 40-page automated report full of warnings that do not apply to you. Our health check is reviewed by someone who actually fixes WordPress sites, so the findings are real and the rankings reflect what would actually bite you.
A list of problems with no path to fixing them is just anxiety. Each finding in your report comes with a fixed price if you want us to handle it. You decide what is worth fixing. No pressure either way.
The health check is a one-time engagement and we treat it that way. If ongoing care makes sense for you, we will say so and point you to it, but the report stands on its own. You are not being funneled into a subscription.
If your site is in good shape, the report will say so. We would rather tell you everything is healthy and earn the next check than invent problems. A clean bill of health is a valid outcome.

One check, one price.

No tiers, no "contact us for a quote." A flat fee for a full review of your WordPress site, with a written report at the end.

Health check questions.

The store audit is for WooCommerce stores and goes deep on checkout, payment gateways, and order flow, which is why it is tiered and priced higher. The health check is for standard WordPress sites (blogs, brochures, business sites) without a store, so it is a single flat fee. If you run a store, get the store audit. If you do not, get this.
That is exactly who it is for. Most WordPress sites that get hacked or go down were not broken the week before. They had an abandoned plugin, an old PHP version, or a backup nobody had tested. A health check finds those before they become the reason your site is down.
We tell you immediately, before finishing the rest of the check. Active compromises need cleanup, not a report, so we would point you to WordPress security for a full malware removal and hardening. The health check is preventive; it is not the right tool once a site is already infected.
No. The report is yours to act on however you like. Every finding has a fixed price if you want us to handle it, but you can fix any, all, or none, do them yourself, or hand the report to another developer. There is no obligation attached to it.
Read-only WordPress admin access and, ideally, read access to your hosting or file system so we can check PHP version, backups, and file integrity properly. After you order, we send secure instructions for setting up temporary access — you never send credentials through the form or email. We do not change anything during a health check, we only look.
The flat EUR 199 covers one WordPress site. If you have several, contact us via the contact form and we will quote them together. If you are managing multiple sites regularly, a care plan is usually a better fit than repeated one-off checks.
A written report covering all five areas, with every finding named, located, explained, ranked by risk, and priced to fix. Plain language a business owner can read, not a raw scanner export. It is useful on its own whether or not you have us do any of the fixes.
Send your site URL via the contact form and we will confirm what access to set up. Flat EUR 199, report delivered within 3 business days.
